Faster Ranking with Crickex App Matchmaking

Crickex App experts recently revealed that the long-awaited overhaul of the Honor of Kings matchmaking system has moved from internal discussion to limited testing. The new matchmaking mechanism is set to launch in the test server by the end of the month and will officially go live with the start of the next ranked season. This major update revolves around four key improvements aimed at enhancing gameplay and fairness.

Under the current system, post-match ratings serve only as a summary and have little to no influence on ranking progression. The revamped version will introduce a point-based ranking system where every 100 points equals one star. Earning an MVP medal will immediately grant 100 points, even for players on the losing team—essentially protecting their star. Players with outstanding in-game performance can earn additional ranking points, allowing high-skill players to climb faster.

For instance, Crickex App shows a player using Ao Yin reached a score of 16, secured the MVP for the farming lane, and pulled off a five-kill streak, earning 300 points in one match—equivalent to three stars. With an MVP bonus star card, that could even become four stars. This change makes it clear that skilled players will now have a much smoother path to rank up.

On the other hand, simply playing passively and padding stats will no longer guarantee medals. The new rating system focuses less on raw numbers and more on meaningful contributions to the team. Actions like controlling objectives, pushing lanes, assisting allies, and applying lane pressure will all be factored in. Crickex App notes that the developers acknowledged flaws in the current system, particularly how it often pairs players with significant skill gaps—an issue that affects team synergy and match quality.

To address this, the matchmaking algorithm has been significantly upgraded. While the full technical details are complex, developers confirm that the system now evaluates player performance more accurately and pairs individuals with similar skill levels. Players with frequent wins or consistently high ratings will be matched together, enabling more competitive and rewarding matches.

Previously, the lane-selection feature was only available from 12 to 6 PM and limited in scope. Starting next season, this system will be available across all ranks and time periods, including the high-tier Peak matches. For ranks below King, players will choose only one preferred lane—such as marksman—and the hero selection screen will display only suitable heroes, preventing off-role picks and improving match integrity.

At the King rank and above, players can set both a primary and secondary lane, with an additional flexible option for those comfortable in multiple roles. If the selected hero doesn’t match the chosen lane, the system will issue a warning. Crickex App advises players to communicate with teammates before switching roles, as random changes may result in penalty points for unsportsmanlike behavior.

Players will also be able to see the heroes banned by teammates but not by the enemy until the timer runs out, when all bans are revealed. To address duplicate bans and ensure variety, the ban system will allow a minimum of five and a maximum of ten heroes to be banned. This approach also reduces the over-banning of support characters and could potentially allow more powerful heroes into play.

In summary, these matchmaking and rating system updates will reward performance, promote fairer matchups, and improve team composition—ushering in a new era of ranked gameplay for all Crickex App users.
