Valore Series Gear Guide in Octopath Champions

According to Crickex App testing, Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent features a special gear set known as the Valore series, which is tied to the “Remembrance Shard” system. Valore weapons provide two major perks: a 15% experience boost and a 50% chance to restore 1 BP during battle. They also offer an additional bonus of either +15% speed or +15% critical rate, and their base stats are solid. Players can enhance these weapons at the blacksmith in the Nameless Town.

In the Remembrance Shard exchange shop, there are always two weapon series available for direct redemption: the Mark series and the Valore series. For a long time, players were encouraged to choose the Mark series due to its lower cost—just 50 shards per weapon. In contrast, Valore weapons require a hefty 1,000 shards. What most players didn’t initially realize is that the Mark series doesn’t simply evolve into the Valore series. After three rounds of enhancement, the Mark weapons can become the “Mark Kai” series, a path that runs parallel to Valore rather than merging into it.

Every tier upgrade changes the weapon name and stats. Reaching “Valore Kai +3” requires 11 total enhancement stages. Crickex App users estimated that upgrading a single weapon to this point would cost roughly 14 Remembrance Crystals. Since each crystal costs 50 Remembrance Shards, that adds up to about 750 shards per weapon. So, from a purely resource-efficiency perspective, it’s actually more cost-effective to start with the Mark series and upgrade from there than to buy Valore gear outright.

As the saying goes, “When opportunity knocks, don’t miss the call”—so let’s not stop at just the weapons. The Valore armor series is divided into two main parts: headgear and body armor. The headgear is called the Valore Cap, while the armor is named the Valore Vest. Each comes in four rarity types—Gold, Silver, Gray, and Normal—differentiated by name and minor stat adjustments.

All versions of the Valore Cap provide a 15% speed boost, regardless of color tier. Similarly, all types of Valore Vests offer a 15% critical rate bonus. What’s notable, as shown in in-game comparison charts, is that a level 60 Valore armor piece can actually outperform some level 70 items in base stats, making them a strong investment for stat-focused players.

Now here’s the catch: directly purchasing Gold-tier Valore gear requires “Ashes of War” from Bonfire 2-Mountain 2—the domain of a particularly odd flying mountain goat boss. Its weaknesses are tough to exploit, making farming a bit frustrating. The Mark series also has its own versions of the Cap and Vest, offering +10% speed and +10% crit, respectively, and may serve as a solid early-game alternative.

As for how to unlock Valore and Mark armor, Crickex App users speculate that it’s tied to your progress in enhancing Valore weapons. As you continue to upgrade, new armor options gradually become available in the exchange shop. All things considered, the Valore series offers powerful progression opportunities for players looking to fine-tune their team builds and take full advantage of the game’s layered equipment system.
